AESSEAL® invests in its employees to ensure that all our people fulfill their potential.
Josie Lewis: IT Manager
"I joined AESSEAL® in 1987 as Data Input Clerk. Two years later I was offered promotion to Accounts Supervisor which gave me responsibility of my own team and the output of the department.
My next promotion took me into our Stores department as Stores Manager. The role included an increase in staff responsibility, stock control, and mechanical seal assembly and to make sure customer orders were despatched on time.
In 1995 I was promoted to the IT and Payroll Manager. In 2012 I’m still in the IT Department as IT Manager. My main responsibility is to provide support for our Global ERP Systems and the ongoing development. I also provide support to our IT Director with the day to day running of the IT Department.
During my 30 year career at AESSEAL® I have been given the opportunity to be the best I can be and to know I have contributed to a successful company. AESSEAL® gave me the opportunity to complete an Open University Course in Management and I’ve had the chance to travel to many of our Global sites and experience different cultures."
I have been given the opportunity to be the best i can be and to know i have contributed to a successful company.
Michael Rich: Test House Supervisor
"I have been a part of this business since March 2003. I was initially employed as an apprentice machinist in the Special Products Division which was then located at the Mangham Road site in Rotherham.
I finished my apprenticeship in the summer of 2005 and shortly after I was given the responsibility of becoming a Team Leader to one of the 2 shifts that were operating at the time. I enjoyed this role immensely and it gave me key skills that would be the foundation for my future at AESSEAL®.
In 2008 I moved to the Test House as a Trainee Test Engineer where I got involved with a number of key development projects, most notably our Compressor Dry Gas Seal project. I played a key part in taking this project from development through to being a fully marketable AESSEAL® product range.
In 2012 I was offered the chance to become the supervisor of the Test Department which I was thrilled to accept and I have really enjoyed my role within this department and more recently I have relished the opportunity to be part of the new Large Diameter Gas Seal Facility development. The people I work with day to day are amazing and it’s a pleasure to come to work with them."
I enjoy the freedom that my role gives me to improve both myself and my department and it is a pleasure to come to work with people who share my enthusiasm.
Madeleine Kearney: Design Engineer
I started my apprenticeship in October 2013. For the first year I worked at the AMRC training center where I gained experience hand fitting, turning and milling.
After this I began working in the Test house as an Apprentice Test Engineer where I was a member of the Gas Seal Team, lapping, etching, building and testing Compressor Dry Gas Seals and Universal Dry Gas Seals.
In 2017 I joined the customer order design team where I have been learning to use solid edge to design seals to suit the customer’s requirements.
Josh Perry: UK Business Assurance Manager
I joined AESSEAL® in 2013 straight from university as a Business Assurance Officer (HSEQ). I began with a focus on H&S where AESSEAL® put me through my NEBOSH General Certificate which is an in depth qualification built as a foundation for Health and Safety Managers. I progressed into Quality and Environmental aspects of the department completing formal qualifications in both disciplines.
AESSEAL® nurtured my developing management skills over a 12 month period before I was formally appointed as the UK Business Assurance Manager.
I am now completing a NEBOSH Diploma in my own time, which I will finish this year. This Diploma is an evidence based qualifications for Health and Safety Managers – which I certainly could not have achieved without the management opportunity that AESSEAL® has given me.
I also get to visit sites across the Global Business carrying out audits, training and implementing ISO systems. For a large company to trust in a young person to represent the AESSEAL® brand around the Globe is definitely something most other Companies do not offer. I have only spent a relatively short time with AESSEAL® and the first 4 years of employment have been fast paced, challenging but certainly rewarding and I look forward to developing my career further within the Company.
Tom Lockwood: On Site Application Engineer
I began my career at AESSEAL® Rotherham back in 2005 as a design apprentice. I spent time learning about the business during my apprenticeship by working in different areas along the way.
After 5 years of study and completion of my engineering qualifications I was tasked with managing our bearing protection product range. Leading a team of 8 was difficult at times, but it was a fantastic opportunity and has helped me broaden my skill set outside of engineering.
Throughout my time as head of the bearing protection division I learnt a great deal about our marketplace and how we interact with customers. Which has led onto me moving into my most recent job role change this year as on-site application engineer at a petrochemical plant in North America. In this role I have a very close relationship with our customer and my main task is to increase the MTBF (mean time between failure) for the pumps on the plant by applying our products and best practice. I am enjoying the change and new learning opportunity.
